Job Description:
The Facilities Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that buildings and their services meet the needs of the employees who work within them. The individual will be accountable for oversight on security, maintenance, cleaning, repairs, construction projects (as needed), and other environments. The coordinator will also work in conjunction with others to sustain key safety programs to protect the health and safety of the employees.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for inspection, maintenance, repair, and improvements of mechanical, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in conjunction with contractors, as needed.
- Responsible for scheduling maintenance services for overhead doors, dock plates, cranes, forklifts, etc. Determine compliance and source new/replacements when necessary.
- Responsible for the monitoring and execution of our standard cleaning program for multiple sites.
- Ensures quality of janitorial/cleaning services provided by internal and external resources.
- Maintains the company’s security and fire suppression systems.
- Responsible for responding to after hour alarms.
- Responsible for providing key fobs to new employees.
- Responsible for organizing seasonal work such as snow removal and landscaping.
- Responsible for issuing workspace to new/existing employees.
- Proactively identifies non-routine maintenance tasks and responds appropriately to ad-hoc requests to ensure a consistent experience for employees.
- Partner with manufacturing team in coordination of projects and services involving both facilities maintenance and factory personnel.
- Responsible for monitoring adherence to the company safety program by subcontractors.
- Participate in accident-incident investigations along with JHSC member(s) to identify corrective actions and root cause(s), when necessary.
- Ensure that identified actions resulting from accidents, near miss, or hazard identification are completed in a timely manner.
- Plan, budget, and schedule facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts and contracts for construction and maintenance services.
- Lead competitive bidding for outside services, facilities supplies, and capital investments.
- Responsible for maintenance of facilities capital and operating budgets.
- Supports coordination of set up for various company events.
- Independently or as part of a team identifies and implements business process improvements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years equivalent combination of education and experience in facilities, and/or manufacturing operations related to facilities.
- Experience leading teams and managing projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other governing body regulations
- Strong project management, budgeting, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite; in particular Excel.
- Very strong interpersonal and active listening skills; ability to effectively relate to and collaborate with others in many different organizational roles.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Valid drivers license with clean abstract.
