Private family home position - 3 evenings a week from 4 pm to 11 pm. You will be providing care for a woman living in her family home with elderly parents, and she requires total care. Looking for compassionate and caring support that can build a good rapport with this woman and her family. It is helpful if you have experience with lift transfers, total personal care, and G tube feeding; the family will provide training. This woman is 5'9 and 165 pounds - you have to be able to comfortably turn her. The family is very appreciative of good support that matches their daughter’s needs, and they are also very good at providing clear directions, making it easier for the caregiver to understand the expectations.

This job opportunity is ideal for someone interested in working privately for a family in their home, having a good understanding that working in this type of environment - in a family home, doing things the way a family cares for their family member is very different than working for organizations or institutions, you have to know this and appreciate and respect that difference.

This is a self-employed contract position - which means you are contracting privately with the family for your services; you are not being hired by an organization. You will need to submit an invoice provide for you every two weeks for a bi-weekly payment.

You will require a Police Check with Vulnerable Sector and to be able to speak english well, the senior mother has some dementia so clear communication is essential.
