The Porch on Preston is Ottawa’s go-to spot for summer drinks, eats, and an amazing patio vibe.

We provide our guests a retreat from the bustling city while still being in the heart of downtown.

The Porch on Preston attracts locals and tourists looking for a quintessential summer experience 7 days a week. Weekend events and programming turn up the party to the Porch. Your entire summer season will be filled with unpretentious fun working in a dynamic, high volume venue.

We are looking for energetic, fun and enthusiastic Hosts who share our passion for great food, entertainment and creating memorable experiences for our guests.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Greet guests in a friendly and timely manner
- Follow Server Steps of Service to ensure consistent guest experience
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage menu offerings including common allergens
- Inform guests of any food or drink specials or special events that may be happening
- Comfortable with making menu suggestions and up-selling menu items based on the guests’ needs
- Accurately input orders through POS system in a timely manner while managing guests’ tabs
- Communicate effectively with Front of House and Back of House
- Enjoy working in a team environment
- Ability to manage your section and large group reservations
- Maintain a clean and safe working area
- Bus tables and contribute to the sanitation and cleanliness of our venues
- Comply with food and beverage regulations
- Empowered to make decisions and handle guest recovery in a fast-paced environment
- Effectively communicate with team and offer support as their needs may require
- Creating positive shareable experiences and memories for people
- Other duties as assigned

**MUST HAVES**:

- Smart Serve Certificate required
- 1+ years serving experience required
- Exceptional service skills
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing
- A passion and commitment to quality guest service and hospitality
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under varying degrees of busyness
- Meet productivity standards and complete work using time efficiently
- Able to work on the weekends and holidays, including late nights

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour
