**What We Do**

Providing monitoring and response services to the insurance industry at wildfire agency-level scale, WDS monitors wildfire threats to client properties and dispatches wildland firefighter trained and equipped field personnel to those properties across its expansive service area using the largest insurance service ground fleet of wildfire resources in the world. WDS’ mix of professional management and field operation expertise allows us to perform projects and assignments ranging from wildfire loss intervention monitoring and response to design and implementation of comprehensive wildfire risk mitigation programs.

**Position**

The Crew Memberserves on an engine crew, hand crew, or tender, performing fire intervention techniques and fuels management duties in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) environment. The Crew Member does not have supervisory responsibilities and is supervised by the Taskforce Leader or one of the Single Resource Bosses (CRWB/ENGB). The Crew Member works in the Operations Section.

**Required Qualifications**
- NFPA 1010 (or previous NFPA Structural Firefighter Standard) level 1 and/or NFPA 1140 (or previous NFPA Wildland Fire Fighter Standard) Level 1 and/or NWCG FF type 2 and/or CIFFC S-100 and S-185 or other Provincial Certification for Wildland Firefighter crew member.
- Documented completion of CIFFC WFX-FIT Test prior to start date.
- Employees must be 21 years of age or older if eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to pass a DOT Physical and receive a Medical Examiners Certificate (for working in the United States)
- Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence or Provincial equivalent
- Alberta Air Brake Q endorsement or Provincial equivalent
- Must have a valid passport and be willing and able to work in both the U.S. and Canada.
- Preferred Qualifications:

- ICS Canada 100 Preferred
- Alberta Class 1 or 3 Driver's Licence or Provincial equivalent preferred
- Qualification as a Structure Protection Member (STPM) as identified in the Alberta Structure Protection Operational Guidelines

- Under Canadian regulations, commercial motor vehicle drivers operating across provincial or international borders must meet the licensing requirements set forth by their respective province or territory. While the general minimum age for commercial driving within Canada is 18, applicants for this position must be at least 21 years of age to be considered for extra-provincial or international operations, in alignment with industry standards and safety regulations. Employees need to have or be able to obtain a Class V Driver’s Licence and an Air Brake Endorsement. The class of license will be required to drive vehicles of our size and the air brake endorsement will be required for out tenders/type 4 engines with air brakes._

Pay: $40.77-$53.04 per hour
