**Position Summary**:

- In accordance with established vision, values and strategic directions of Northern Heath, patient and staff is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
- Reporting to the Supervisor, Relational Security Services, the Relational Security Services Officer maintains and enforces security of persons and property in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- There is an extended hour agreement pending, a vote will take place at a later date and a there will be a requirement to sign an OT wavier for extended shifts - Training may be considered provided there are not sufficient qualified applicants to fill the available positions.
- **Prince Rupert Regional Hospital **is a 24-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with Medical Imaging, Laboratory, ICU, ER and Maternity. Services include:
- Acute Care
- Internal medicine
- Internal Medicine
- Ultrasound
- CT scans
- Surgery
- Emergency department
- Extended care
- Pediatrics
- Radiology
- Obstetrics
- Gynecology

Additional services such as Diabetes Education, Healthy Heart and Rehabilitation, Podiatry, Orthopedics, and other visiting specialists.

**Qualifications**:

- Current BC Security Guard License, OFA Level II Certification, Certification of Training Completion in Advanced Security Training.
- One year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
