Equipment Operator

Big Rock Sports LLC is seeking experienced and energetic equipment operators to work at our distribution center at our Surrey location.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Desire to work and be cross trained over multiple departments;
- Develop and maintain an appropriate level of understanding of distribution center operations;
- Maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards, while ensuring that all work is performed with a consistent sense of efficiency and urgency;
- Work in compliance with all company, operations, systems, and safety related policies and procedures;
- Process customer orders in the distribution center by manually selecting the correct products for the customer orders using a RF device.
- Operate equipment including forklifts, reach trucks and various other equipment safely and efficiently
- Able to work in high spaces;
- Validate that the correct product has been selected and is defect and damage free;
- Able to meet or exceed minimum picking requirements;
- Report any defects or damages, resolve problems with manager assistance;
- Maintain an acceptable level of attendance;
- Perform housekeeping and other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
**Qualifications (depending on position)**:
- 18 years or older;
- Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screening;
- High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of related experience, training, and/or education;
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (limited heat or air conditioning)
- ** Minimum of one-year distribution center experience for all positions**;
- Minimum of one-year experience with various equipment such as reach-trucks, hand-trucks, and forklift and maintain powered industrial equipment certification for equipment operators;
- Minimum of one-year experience in shipping/receiving for this position;
- One year of order picking with handheld and/or wrist RF scanner preferred;
- Experience with WDS or WMS preferred;
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to read and write legibly and to understand and carry out oral and written instructions;
- English language fluency preferred;
- Strong basic math skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays;
- Complete understanding of safety and risk management

**Hours**:
Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm; must have the flexibility to work additional time or Saturdays as needed to accommodate business spikes.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Must be able to perform work that involves standing, walking, and bending for a minimum of eight hours;
- Able to continuously lift to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
