Planer Technician Cedar

**Job Title**: Planer Technician / Planer Operator

**Employer**: Well established, fully automated Planermill in the Chilliwack area

**Products Produced**: Standard dimension cedar products for local, national and US export markets.

**Job Opportunity**: Planer Operator. Permanent, full time, hourly.

**Skills Required**: Daily duties of this position include planer tooling preparation, machine setup and full operation.

**Required Experience**:To fully qualify for this position you MUST have at least 2-3 years of experience running a high speed planer running standard lumber profiles. Experience on a Stetson Ross, Yates, Woods, Coastal or similar, is ideal.

**Optional skills and experience**: Some basic maintenance skills are ideal to help keep the plant running. When not actively working on the planer this position may also be assigned to run a thorough-feed moulder as required to meet production requirements.

**Compensation**: Pay levels are set according to our existing wage hierarchy, adjusted annually. Hourly wage levels are very competitive on the coast.

**Work Environment**: This is a well established planermill in the lower mainland with a well equipped plant and well cared for production machinery. Fully staffed and properly equipped Maintenance Dept.
