Firefly Counselling and Consulting is looking for a _Registered Psychologist_ or _Provisional Psychologist_ to provide psychometric assessment for our clients. In addition to a focus on assessment work, the Psychologist will also have an opportunity to build a counseling practice for clients dealing with anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, stress, grief/loss, communication issues, eating disorders, or other areas of particular interest.

Firefly Counselling is seeking a _Psychologist_ or _Provisional Psychologist_ with training in providing some or all of the following assessments:

- Cognitive
- Academic
- Personality
- Trauma
- Behavioural
- Neurodevelopmental
- Competency

Preference will be given to a Psychologist or Provisional Psychologist with training in Adult and Child Autism assessments.

As our client based is mixed, preference will be given to an assessor who can work with young children through mature adults.

Firefly offers a purpose build assessment room, a current, well-stocked assessment library, and supports from other psychologists who have been providing assessments for 15+ years. For counselling work, Firefly offers its clinicians new, fully furnished, fully equipped offices that were built with a focus on sound management. You will be surrounded by a team of experienced, positive therapists who are available for consults, questions or just to chat.

Assessment work is primarily daytime hours. General clinical counselling work tends to fall on evening and weekends to meet client needs. Our client based is mixed. In particular, we seek out clinicians who are eligible to work with First Nations/Metis/Residential School Program populations, and who are comfortable working with individuals identifying within the LGBTQ++ community.

For general therapy work Firefly seeks Psychologists who have training in (or willingness to actively seek training and supervision in) one or more of these therapeutic approaches:

- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) (as per Sue Johnson’s work)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Hypnosis
- Motivational Interviewing
- Somatic Therapy

Clinician Requirements
- In good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists as a Registered Psychologist or Provisional Psychologist
- Two or more years of direct experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Must carry $2 million in professional liability insurance
- Three reference with two from established clinicians who have observed your work

Clinician Attributes
- Demonstrated ability to provide client focused care
- Ability to maintain a generalist caseload if primary focus is on clinical counselling
- Demonstrated competence in maintaining up to date notes
- Professional production of requested third party reports in a timely manner
- Actively engaging in clinical practice continuing education
- Ability to work independently and with other clinicians as needed
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in standard computing skills and software (i.e. Microsoft Word/Google Docs)
- Takes ownership of their actions and decisions
- Willingness to work a range of hours to build a caseload (general therapy work)

Part-time hours: 5-40 per week

**Salary**: Up to $100,000.00 per year
