Weekend Kids Coach

Looking for a fun weekend job working with an amazing team, helping kids to have an amazing experience with friends? Fitset Ninja is looking for enthusiastic, engaging coaches to lead our weekend afternoon programming This includes leading parties and supervising Open Gym sessions. Do you love working with kids and have a passion for physical activity? Join our team Training is provided on our specific sport.

**What’s Ninja?**

Ninja is short for ninja obstacle course racing. It is similar to what you see on the show American Ninja Warrior. If you haven’t trained in ninja before, don’t worry We can teach you If you bring an athletic background we have full confidence you can lead kids through their ninja experience.

**What Will You Be Doing?**

On weekends, Fitset Ninja offers Open Gym sessions and parties. Open Gym sessions are “free time” for guests to come explore our facility, with coaches available to provide basic tips and instruction. Parties are available for birthdays and other events. These come with a designated party coach who helps arrange lead orientations, run mini-competitions and arrange courses specifically for party guests.

We are looking for enthusiastic Weekend Coaches to support our Open Gym and party bookings. These bookings begin at 1pm on Saturdays & Sundays.

**Roles & Responsibilities**

Overall Weekend Coach
- Ensure facility is prepped for guest and spectators
- Supervise athletes and support their experience on the course
- Create challenges and engage with the guests while on the floor
- Ensure athletes are having fun, and spectators have all their questions addressed
- Provide an orientation to guests and athletes
- Provide examples and demonstrations of the obstacles (training provided)
- Showcase the safety precautions of the gym and outline the open gym rules
- Remind guests about ongoing promotions
- Keep facility clean and tidy
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment to all guests
- Ensure that there are no children under the age of 5 on the course or using the obstacles

Specific to Party Coach
- Prep the party rooms
- Escort the guests to their designated party room, if applicable
- Conduct group headcounts
- Provide a fun and interactive experience to the guests, taking them through the obstacles of the gym in a safe and orderly manner
- Continually check in with parents to ensure that they have everything that they need
- Provide a 15 & 5 min reminder to the host of the birthday party to ensure they are aware to clear out once their time slot is finished to allow clean up and operations of the next birthday party
- Mention to party hosts to fill out a review for their party to receive a free Open Gym pass

Specific to Open Gym Coach
- Prepare the Open Gym space by ensuring that each area has fun and interactive obstacles
- Check obstacles for safety
- Tidy up equipment not being utilized
- Provide basic tips and instructions like offering challenges/regressions to the guests
- Interact with all guests and spectators if possible
- Ensuring the obstacles stay organized and safe for athletes
- Ensure all athletes under the age of 12 are accompanied by an adult

**Qualifications**
- Prior experience working with children & youth
- Ability to work weekends on a recurring weekly basis
- Valid Standard First Aid / CPR-C required within three months of hire date
- Completed and cleared Police Record check with Vulnerable Sector Search completed prior to start date
- Completion of the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders Certificate within one month of hire date

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $15.50-$18.00 per hour
