**Nature and Scope**

Reporting to the Sous Chef, the Beer Tender is responsible for providing exceptional bar service to residents and guests in a warm, engaging, and hospitality-focused environment. This role prepares and serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, light food items, and ensures the bar area is clean, stocked, and inviting. The Beer Tender also manages daily inventory, maintains accurate sales records, and upholds all applicable safety and service standards, including Smart Serve regulations.

**Operational Responsibilities**
- Always promotes a safe and welcoming environment for residents, guests, and team members.
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and light food items.
- Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and quality of all beverages and food served.
- Complete daily inventory counts and restock bar fridges with beer, wine, and other supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, tables, and chairs.
- Handle daily cash-out procedures, including balancing receipts and reconciling sales.
- Follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines as per Smart Serve certification.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and supervisors to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with event setups, special functions, and themed hospitality evenings as required.
- Participate in training and development activities to maintain product knowledge and service standards.

**Prerequisites**

**Formal Education or Training**
- Completion of Smart Serve certification (mandatory).

**Experience**
- Previous bartending, beer tender, or food & beverage service experience preferred.
- Experience in hospitality, senior living, or customer service environments considered an asset.

**Skills / Knowledge**
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Knowledge of beer and wine.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, resident-focused setting.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

**Certifications / Licenses**
- Smart Serve (mandatory).
- WHMIS and First Aid/CPR considered an asset.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour
