Canada Journal is an Education Agent that offers international student services for Japanese students to help their educational success in Canadian private/public colleges, ESL programs, co-op programs, and secondary schools.

We have been providing detailed services and assistance for over 700+ international students from Japan per year who will be studying in Canada.

We are currently looking for a responsible and enthusiastic Japanese international homestay coordinator who is fluent in Japanese.

*Business-level Japanese speaking/writing is mandatory for this position*Communication must be conducted in Japanese customer service and business settings

**Job Type**
Full-time: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday
or
Part-time: 20 hours per week including Saturday and Sunday

**Salary**
Hourly rate: $17.50～

**Benefits**

**Responsibilities and duties**:

- Placing students with homestay hosts based on individual profile and special requests
- Compiling and maintaining accurate homestay information in the database
- Managing arrivals/departures and move in/out dates
- Auditing homestay hosts, conducting on-site inspections and ensuring accommodation and facilities comply with program expectations
- Ensuring consistency and quality in homestay service
- Advertising for, recruiting, vetting and maintaining relationships with homestay hosts
- Creating and sending homestay confirmation to students/partners in a timely manner
- Preparing Homestay profile, airport pick-up/drop-off schedules
- Communicating with Pick-up drivers, students, hosts for any changes of flights
- Speaking with students and helping them with homestay issues, counselling and solving issues
- Speaking with homestay families and collecting complaints and answering questions
- Collaborating with the student counselor to follow up with students/homestay families
- Managing emergency calls from homestay hosts and students
- Informing manager and team members of concerns, and situations that may result in program failure
- Other tasks as required

**Competencies**
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel), Google Docs Editors (Docs and Sheets)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills
- Superior work ethic with the ability to initiate and remain on task without supervision

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Post-Secondary Education
- Class 5 Driving License (Clean drivers abstract)
- Customer service experience
- Related work experience in an administrative role is preferred
- Experience in a student services setting working with students, preference will be given to those with experience working with or understanding the international student
