EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Reporting to the foreman, the equipment operator will be responsible for operating both heavy and smaller equipment safely and efficiently. including maintaining equipment, conducting and completing equipment inspections, site inspections, assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely and efficiently operate skid steer, telehandler, excavator, etc., within a construction environment.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Accurately conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, safety and inspection reports, including daily and site hazard assessments and other work reports.
Ensure equipment is maintained (cleaning, lubricating, fueling, trouble shooting) on a daily basis, complete/record daily log and other forms, etc.
Ensure compliance with all company and legislated safety policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as required.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience (preferably 5-6) as an equipment operator, heavy equipment operator certification is considered an asset.
Maintain a valid unrestricted driver's license and clean driver's abstract (class 1 or heavy trailer endorsement preferred).
Operate equipment with care and attention to equipment, site and crew
Understanding of and background experience with, grades, slopes and elevations
Experience and knowledge within a construction environment
Support site operations through manual labour, including shoveling, operating powered equipment, loading and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, light maintenance, and other duties as needed.
Willingness to actively participate in toolbox meetings and work with all team members to meet target deadlines
Excellent command of the english language, both verbal and comprehension, good communication skills, attention to detail and a Safety First mindset
