Atlohsa Family Healing Services is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to fill the role of **Community Wellness Worker **in the Okaadenige Anti-Human Trafficking program. The main priority of the Community Wellness Worker is to support Indigenous community members who have survived, are involved or who are at risk of human trafficking, sexual abuse and exploitation.

**Role and Responsibility**

Using a wholistic Indigenous led approach to principals of harm reduction and trauma-informed care for community well-being, the successful applicant will offer compassionate and engaging support to women, girls, men and boys and self-identifying genders who may be experiencing forms of human trafficking, sexual abuse and exploitation. The Community Wellness Worker will support individuals experiencing mental health, social stigma, homelessness, trauma, violence and substance use while understanding how colonization contributes to these issues. The Community Wellness worker will create safety and healing plans while building a rapport with community members to foster a sense of belonging. The Community Wellness Worker will provide counselling, intervene in crisis, and collaborate with other agencies to make appropriate referrals when needed.

**Suitability**
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the languages, traditional ways, history and cultures of the Indigenous population in the London region
- Strong analysis of colonialism and the ways in which historical and ongoing colonization impacts Indigenous peoples intergenerationally
- Knowledge of human trafficking and sexual exploitation of Indigenous peoples in Canada
- Understanding of Indigenous homelessness and Indigenous harm reduction
- Experience with providing support and resources to the 2SLGBTQIA community
- Experience working with marginalized individuals from a trauma-informed lens
- Ensure that confidentiality, professional ethics and professional standards are maintained in all aspects of the case management process
- Demonstrated strengths in leadership, interpersonal relations, public speaking, problem-solving, crisis intervention, group dynamics, community development and other innovative approaches
- Understanding of cultural safety and an awareness of its impact on practice
- Degree in social work or related field with minimum 5 years’ professional or lived experience
- Flexibility for local travel and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current Vulnerable Sector check
