Reporting to the Regional Director, Community Support Services the Oasis Coordinator oversees the delivery of
OASIS supportive living programming in order to address social, nutritional, and physical needs of seniors’ livings
in naturally occurring retirement communities. Working collaboratively with seniors in the program and the
Oasis’ Board of Directors, the Oasis Coordinator works to develop recreational and social activities while
ensuring members have agency and choice over program decisions that affect their lives. Fostering an
environment where seniors can age comfortably and independently in the community of their choice, the
Coordinator works to strengthen social connections between residents. The OASIS Coordinator develops and
maintains strong relationships with members, the Oasis Board of Directors, landlords, and local health or social
service providers to deliver appropriate supports.
**Role Responsibilities**
- Directs and executes the day-to-day delivery of Oasis Program
- Through engagement of the membership, co-designs and implements programming suited to their
interests and needs
- Facilitates and hosts social and recreational activities for Oasis members
- Promotes an inclusive environment for programming where each member is engaged and feels
welcome
- Recruits and orientates seniors from the building to participate in programming designed to strengthen
relationships and bonds between members that address social isolation
- Engages multiple stakeholders, including senior residents, landlords, local service providers and the
Board of Directors in development of the program
- Strengthens bonds between residents, and encourages senior residents to provide support for one
another
- **Required Qualifications and Experience**:
- Minimum two-year post-secondary diploma program, bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field such
as social sciences, health sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 1-year experience working in a community environment with group facilitation and
community engagement
