Summary
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining the company facilities and equipment under the direction of, and in coordination with the Facility Manager. The technician is responsible for becoming familiar with all facility components and processes and existing and new machinery, all manuals, reports and warranties in order to complete regular maintenance, cleaning and minor repairs. This position will ensure the facility is in good, safe, clean and secure working order and all equipment and tools are properly inventoried and secured and perform a variety of low to medium skilled maintenance tasks inside and outside the facility. The technician reports directly to the Facility Manager and ensures the use of proper procedures and safe handling and storage of all equipment and materials as required by legislated Occupational Health and Safety Standards and the policies implemented by the company.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on facility equipment including HVAC, refrigeration systems, boilers, air compressors, and general building systems.
- Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- Maintain and repair food processing equipment in accordance with food safety standards.
- Ensure facility systems are operating in compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
- Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Perform facility inspections and identify areas for improvement or potential hazards.
- Collaborate with sanitation, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure facility readiness.
- Support emergency maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
Pay: From $42,000.00 per year
