About New Westminster Schools
Serving the community of New Westminster, the New Westminster School District provides high quality educational programs to over 7,000 students in a variety of learning environments. New Westminster is in the center of Metro Vancouver between the larger communities of Burnaby, Coquitlam, Surrey, and Richmond. Despite its location the city is relatively small and has retained a strong sense of history and community. The total population is approximately 82,000 and expected to grow to 104,000 by 2041. District schools are in general, fully subscribed, and a steady increase in student enrolment is expected over the next ten years.

Lead and support ELCC school district projects and initiatives
Have a thorough understanding of Childcare Fee Reduction Initiatives, Affordable Childcare Benefits, and Childcare Operating Funds
Identify and explore grant options including the Ministry of Education and Child Care New Spaces Fund
Work with Fraser Health licensing officers to ensure school district childcare centres are in compliance with licensing requirements
Build and strengthen relationships with community partners and Indigenous rightsholders to enhance childcare throughout the District
Be familiar with the Early Learning Framework, and provide high-quality professional learning opportunities to early learning educators
Successfully manage a designated budget to identify and align district resources to support ELCC
Required qualifications
**The successful applicant will have**:
Minimum 5 years' experience working in childcare settings, and/or other relevant experience
Experience managing a staff and budgets
Extensive knowledge and experience in early childhood education and school age childcare
Current ECE certificate
Valid BC driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle
Experience with licensing agencies and reporting requirements (CCFRI, CCOF, ACCB)
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others
