**Job Description Summary**:
We are looking for a part time counter assistant for our butcher shop and meat processing plant. As a counter assistant at Green’s Meat Market your main duties will be centered around our retail store, but you may be required to assist with production tasks throughout the plant. This role is usually filled by high school students who are looking for after school and weekend work, but individuals of all ages & education levels are encouraged to apply We are happy to offer students full time work over the summer

**Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Preparing orders of fresh meat products for customers in our retail store.
- Provide customers with friendly & knowledgeable shopping experience.
- Processing retail sales using till, debit machine etc.
- Stocking freezers and shelves.
- General cleaning of retail area (disinfecting surfaces, cleaning windows & counters, etc.)
- As needed, assist with basic production tasks (bagging hamburger, boxing sausage, packaging pepperettes etc.)

**Working Conditions**:

- Must be able to work in refrigerated conditions and stand for entire shift.
- Must be able to lift and carry 20-30lbs.
- Must be able to keep up in a fast paced & productive work environment.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in customer care.
- Knowledge of meat processing and standards cuts of meat is an asset.
- Safety minded, quality oriented, and an eagerness to learn and be a part of a team.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 12-20 per week
