**Job Title**: Production/Bakery Assistant
**Location**: Cana Packing - Burnside, NS
**Wage**: $19-$21/hour

**Job Type**: Full-time (Flexible schedule required)
**Reports To**: Production Supervisor / Bakery Lead

**Position Overview**:
This is a **flexible role**—ideal for someone who is open to working evening and weekend shifts as the production schedule expands. Due to limited public transit options in Burnside during off-peak hours, having **reliable transportation** is highly recommended.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with daily bakery operations: mixing, scaling, baking prep, packaging, and cleanup.
- Support lab and production workflows including technical measurements, data entry, and quality checks.
- Operate small mixers and other bakery equipment with precision and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in all work areas.
- Use computers to input data, print labels, and track ingredients or production batches.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support smooth operations.
- Flex between departments as needed: front-end, production, and technical/lab roles.
- Safely lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

**Qualifications**:

- COA (Certificate of Analysis) bakery experience is an asset.
- Willingness to be trained in all aspects of production, bakery, and lab work.
- Flexible availability, including readiness to work evenings and weekends.
- Reliable transportation strongly preferred due to limited transit in Burnside during off-peak hours.
- Computer literacy required (e.g., basic data entry, label printing, inventory tracking).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Prior customer service experience is an asset.
- Food Handler Certification and/or WHMIS certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain).
