**Personal Support Worker (PSW)Job Summary**:
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides compassionate, client-centered care to individuals in their homes or care facilities. They assist clients with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment. The PSW works collaboratively with healthcare professionals, family members, and clients to deliver quality care that enhances the client’s quality of life.

**Key Responsibilities:1**. **Personal Care Assistance**
- Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Support mobility needs, including transfers, positioning, and use of assistive devices.
- Provide assistance with feeding and ensuring proper nutrition.

2. **Household and Environmental Support**
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying, and cleaning.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements or preferences.
- Ensure the living environment is clean, safe, and organized.

3. **Emotional and Social Support**
- Engage clients in conversations and activities to promote mental well-being.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social outings as needed.
- Provide companionship and emotional reassurance.

4. **Health Monitoring and Reporting**
- Observe and report changes in clients' physical or mental conditions.
- Assist with medication reminders under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and tasks completed.

5. **Compliance and Safety**
- Follow care plans as outlined by supervisors or healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols, including proper use of PPE.
- Ensure client confidentiality and respect for their privacy.

**Qualifications:Education and Certification**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) program.
- CPR and First Aid certification (mandatory).

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience working with elderly or individuals with disabilities is an asset.

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and care plans effectively.
- Physical ability to perform caregiving tasks, including lifting and transferring clients.
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.

**Work Environment**:

- Work is performed in clients’ homes or care facilities.
- May require flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to various health conditions or disabilities of clients.

This position plays a vital role in enhancing the independence and quality of life of clients. A successful PSW is empathetic, professional, and dedicated to providing the highest standard of care.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From $3,000.00 per month
