Lead Quantitative Research Analyst

**What is the opportunity?**
We are looking for a Lead Quantitative Research Analyst to join the Quantitative Investments team at RBC Global Asset Management (GAM).
The Quantitative Investments team applies a rigorous scientific approach to the development and management of a suite of systematic equity investing strategies. Our models are data-driven and grounded in sound fundamental and economic rationale. Our team has a highly collaborative culture that fosters innovation and growth. We manage $25 billion in asset for our clients across a range of investment strategies.
**What will you do?**
- Work with the head of quantitative research to drive our initiative in the area of machine learning and artificial intelligence with the aim of enhancing investment outcomes. working with the team to push ideas forward and identify opportunities to improve the team’s investment models, and drive delivery
- Lead the team’s strategic research initiative in the area of alpha generation and machine learning, and partner with the team’s technology partners and data specialists in building up the team’s next-generation modeling platform
- Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven and team-focused environment
- Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary project teams consisting of research analysts, portfolio managers, data specialists and technology analysts and developers
- Remain at the cutting edge of research and development in quantitative investment and financial data science recognizing that we must continually evolve our investment skills and processes

**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must Have**
- 5-7+ years of research experience
- Experience and successful track record in quantitative equity investing
- Demonstrated strong leadership and mentoring capabilities. Strong communication and organizational skills
- An exceptional level of curiosity, creativity in research and problem-solving, and a strong drive and focus on driving investment impact through research
- Master’s degree in data science, finance, applied economics/econometrics/statistics, applied science or related field
- Possession of a strong technical skills required to implement data-intensive quantitative research
**Nice to Have**
- Completion or enrollment in CFA
