**Plumber**

**JOB SUMMARY**:
This day shift position (7 a.m. - 3 p.m.) with overtime when required, works independently to provide, plan and coordinate a comprehensive mechanical service carried out by the KEI millwrights as well as outside services to include repairs, installations, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives. For this position there is a 12-month probationary period.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Must follow safe work practices, know and comply with all regulations, report an injury or illness immediately, report unsafe acts and/or conditions.

Install, maintain and service all facility plumbing systems (including but not limited to CPCV, mild steel, galvanized, stainless, Victaulic fittings, copper and poly)

Repair, troubleshoot and maintain equipment in the plant (hoists, valves, pumps, controls, flow circuits, product, component selection, polishing equipment and all other associated equipment) and act as a resource to department staff.

Pipe threading

Follows thru with instructions from Manager of Services and perform other duties as assigned and communicate any issues such as safety, staffing, budget, etc.

Maintains and work with Purchasing Department to ensure materials required are in inventory'

Estimates jobs and creates material take-offs,

Responsible for adhering to plant quality procedures in assigned job to meet customer requirements and customer specific requirements.

Complies with all management systems to which KEI subscribes (ex. Quality and Environmental systems).

Works effectively with all plant personnel to promote KEI objectives and goals.

Attends all meetings and training sessions.

Completes all required paperwork (time cards, job evaluations, work orders).

Responsible for 6S (Housekeeping) as required.

**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum grade 12 or equivalent education.
- Licensed Journeyman Plumber; 5 years industrial experience preferred.
- Gas Piping ticket would be a benefit.
- Electroplating Chemistry, Cleaning and Rinsing Chemistry, Water, Air knowledge would be an asset.
- Certified Golf Cart and Scissor Lift License or ability to obtain.
- Back Flow Prevention Certified or ability to obtain.
- GAS 1 Certification or ability to obtain.
- Knowledge of product quality standards and the importance of your activities in achieving, maintaining, and improving quality, including customer requirements and the associated risks to customers of non-conforming products.
- Ability to train and lead apprentice when required.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team.
- Maximum organizational skills.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- High technical skills.
- Good hand tool flexibility.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with/from blueprints for new and existing fluid transfer systems and understanding of distribution systems.
