GCW is looking to add to our Finishing team
Finishers at GCW Custom Kitchens and Cabinetry Inc. are responsible for completing a variety of duties to ensure cabinetry is finished on time and according to project requirements. Finishers work together with the rest of our Production team to provide top quality work, and continue to solidify us as a leader of Custom Cabinetry in St Thomas and Elgin county.
What we are looking for in a Finisher:
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Extremely detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to read labels and instructions, along with shop drawings and blueprints
- Ability to troubleshoot spray guns and hose assemblies considered an asset
- Ability to colour match for touch up and stains
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Spraying sealer, primer, topcoat, stain and/or paints on cabinets and other millwork products with consistent quality and uniformity
- Mixing finish ingredients to reach desired colours or shades
- Sanding, shaping, smoothing and touching-up surfaces to prepare them for finishing
- Problem solving ways to ensure projects are completed on time
**Experience**:
- At least one (1) year of spraying/finishing experience within a similar industry
- Working knowledge of the woodworking industry, including relevant processes, procedures, machinery and equipment
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety procedures regarding finishing and woodworking
