**Electronics Technician**, AlumaPower Corporation

If yes, you may be the perfect Electronics Technician to join us at AlumaPower, a well-funded cleantech start-up with facilities in both Sarnia and Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
Our breakthrough multi-patented technology re-invents the aluminum-air battery as a ‘galvanic generator’- potentially providing four times the energy density of lithium-ion batteries.
We are now developing an innovative long-life energy source that runs on post-consumer scrap, or “abandoned” aluminum, as a fuel source - displacing hydrocarbons, and complementing other battery solutions such as lithium-ion.
Based at our Sarnia location, and reporting to our Systems Coordinator, you will play a crucial part in the design and development of cost-effective electronic solutions for our products and services.

If this sounds like you, then you’ll have the following attributes, experience, and skills:
- Test various electronic equipment such as Oscilloscope, multi-meter, and other test equipment.
- Diagnose problems and perform repairs.
- Perform calibrations on electronic devices.
- Troubleshooting electronic circuits using electrical instrumentation.
- Wiring and installing prototypes, sensors, actuators, panels, and other electrical systems from electrical schematics.
- Building circuits and electronic prototypes based on electronic diagrams.
- Performing quality control tests on electronic prototypes.
- Able to create work instructions to build electronic equipment.
- Drawing and interpreting electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Design schematics based on electronic prototypes.
- Must also be able to work with mechanical equipment using standard bench tools
- Manage the entire repair process, keeping equipment moving through the department.
- Maintaining electrical and electronic inventory.
- Capable of crimping and soldering wires to connectors
- Capable of using power tools, air tools, screwdrivers, strippers, and crimpers.
- Read and interpret datasheets.
- Ability to create a Bill of Materials
**Qualifications/Skills**:
- Minimum of two years of experience in working with electronics.
- Minimum of two years of experience in Automation and robotic systems programming Python and/or C / C++ / C#.
- Graduate of electronics technician or technologist diploma.
- A solid understanding of using test equipment.
- Good understanding of Lean practices
- Computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, MS Teams.
- Capable of reading, writing, and completing work reports
- Understanding of electrical/electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints
- Ability to create quality specification documentation to verify that products comply with required standards for dimensions, schematics, electrical signal range, material compositions, and tolerance levels for strength, durability, and stress tests.
- Ability to evaluate the condition of damaged electronic or mechanical equipment and make recommendations for repair or replacement.
- Participate in meetings with supervisors, co-workers, and employees to plan upcoming activities and to update projects.
- Ability to work in teams that include engineers, machinists, and architects. In a team setting, ability to provide technical support and services to engineers.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Self-motivated, willing to learn and work independently, or as a team member.
