**Description:
**As an automation professional, the desired applicant will share our vision to provide industry leading services to our clients. A diverse background in automation and control system planning, design, programming and maintenance is required with at least 4 years experience. The successful applicant will work with our automation and controls team in our office, located in Calgary Alberta.

**MPE is looking for the following experience**:

- Degree or Diploma in a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Licensed or eligible for licensing or certification with APEGA / ASET
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Background in electrical & instrumentation systems
- Experience with a variety of automation software and hardware systems, including;
- Allen Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, Emerson, Horner, Automation Direct PLCs
- VTScada, iFIX, Ignition, FactoryTalk, AVEVA SCADA software
- Red Lion, Maple, Allen Bradley, Automation Direct HMIs
- Cellular and spread spectrum radio communication infrastructure
- Control system networking, VPN, Routers, Switches, OT infrastructure
- Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team
- Willingness to travel in order to support maintenance and commissioning tasks

**Regular duties include**:

- Programming and testing of PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems
- On-site commissioning and startup
- Supporting clients by troubleshooting control systems via remote access or on-site
- Work and coordinate with contractors
- Assist in control system design
- Assess existing control systems
- Develop control system upgrade strategies
- Implement / specify secure network and remote access schemes
- Educating clients
