Working with the Experience Development team, the Experience Guides are integral to executing exceptional experiences and enriching FEMCo’s public offerings beyond the heritage summer season. Their strong leadership and customer service excellence make certain that events such as DARK, Paranormal Tours, new products and Independent Filming catapult Fort Edmonton Park into becoming the best attraction in Western Canada.

The Experience Guide will primarily be responsible for leading and facilitating the on-site execution of Fort Edmonton Park’s ticketed products, this includes presenting to large groups of people through immersive character and story driven experiences as well as tour-like programming. This role is also the key point of contact and liaison for on-site filming bookings.

Scare Manager (Acting Temporary)

DARK is a large-scale haunted attraction that offers an adrenaline-pumping evening of entertainment via roving performers, immersive haunts, scare zones, and more.

Scare Managers are an integral part of ensuring our haunts and scare zones are high-quality experiences by providing strong leadership to their team of over 25 Scare Actors. This role acts as a hybrid Stage Manager and Theatrical Coach. The Scare Manager will be responsible for coaching and supervising all Scare Actors and Haunt Support staff in the characters, narrative, and startle effects as outlined in each Haunt Script. They also assist with the audition process and are responsible for ensuring their Haunt maintains optimal guest experience throughout.

The Scare Manager will primarily be responsible for supervising various Scare Actors and Haunt Support team members, this includes coaching and providing direction, monitoring health & safety of areas and team members, leading meetings and rehearsals, supporting auditions and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading arts programs such as improv, musical theatre, general theatre, or experience in a leadership role at a haunted attraction; experience in leading arts youth programs is considered an asset;- Demonstrated ability to offer constructive artistic and directorial feedback;- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to empathize, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness within a dynamic environment;- Proven initiative and enthusiasm along with a genuine interest in understanding the products and services offered by Fort Edmonton Park, with a solid understanding of the facility as a whole;- Strong sense of accountability and good use of initiative; takes responsibility and escalates when appropriate; and- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check- Must be a highly motivated and organized individual with strong administrative skills;- Must be able to be flexible and thrive under pressure;- The ability to work effectively with a team, maintain effective working relationships, and function with mínimal supervision;- Minimum 18 years old;

Other information- The Experience Guide position offers no guaranteed hours of work and operates entirely on site. Employees must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions, with frequent walking, standing, moderate up and down stairs and across distances between buildings;- This position has non-standard hours of work and may be required to work a variety of shifts including evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business;-
- Alternate or extended shift hours and/or overtime may be required for this position on an occasional basis;-
- The Scare Manager position is a temporary acting position that is project-based between the months of June and November. Hours of work will increase close to and throughout October. Hours outside of this time frame will depend on the needs of the business;- This position operates primarily on site with some work completed in an office environment. On-site work will increase significantly before, during, and after major events. Employees must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions, with frequent walking, standing, moderate up and down stairs and across distances between buildings;-
