("MasTec Canada" or the "Company")_ **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**: - Support KMJV’s Construction Management Team (CMT) in implementing effective proactive safety measures within the project - Lead, in conjunction with CMT incident investigations of all incidents within the project, including: - Lagging incident investigations (personal injury, equipment damage, property damage, environmental incidents, etc.) - Near miss incidents - Hazard Identifications - Champion the MasTec Canada’s SMS practices, procedures and culture at a project level, including coaching, mentoring, hazard recognition training and continuous improvement analysis - Oversee and implement MasTec Canada’s SMS, while evaluating and ensuring compliance on the project - Interpret and effectively implement Corporate and Client-based safety initiatives - Lead, or assist with, the development and creation of: - Project Specific (Site Specific) Safety Plans - Site Specific Environmental Plans - Maintain appropriate record keeping ensuring confidentiality and privacy considerations are maintained - Oversee and manage safety personnel as required to support project/client requirements. This role will oversee multiple Safety Advisors varying from 1-3 throughout the course of the project **EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**: - Minimum 10 years safety representative experience, with 5+ years leadership experience - HSE experience in a multi-location construction environment; experience in energy infrastructure/pipeline construction an asset - Minimum National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation - Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or greater is an asset **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED**: - Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for promoting and living out Kihew MasTec’s Core Values - Demonstrate an above-average understanding of: - WCB processes including modified duty and case management - Provincial and federal legislation, and industry best practices - Strong analytical and investigative abilities are complemented by exceptional organization and communication skills - Flexibility and adaptability are personality traits key to your success - Adaptable to new technology such as mobile connectivity and electronic document/form management - Proficient with MS Outlook and Office 365 - Strong public speaker, able to interact with employees, and Client representatives in an effective, and courteous manner - Track and communicate with administration on performance of Indigenous employees and Indigenous contractors - Be able to work with sensitivity towards Indigenous people and conscientiously within First Nations’ traditional territory (sensitivity and/or indigenous relations training will be considered an asset) **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Benefits**: - Dental care - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - Life insurance - On-site parking - Paid time off - RRSP match - Vision care Work Location: In person
