Utility Man

JOB TITLE**:Plant Utility Person**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintain good housekeeping in all departments of the plant, including the Grinding dept.
- Maintains a clean and organized Plant, including racks.
- Clean out safety guards from scrap belts in all departments, empty all bins in the plant including the dust collector in the making department.
- To assist the kiln car operator when needed in repair/rebuild of kiln cars.
- Keep mobile vacuum working effectively and empty scrap hopper.
- Participates with snow removal or ice in front of all entrance/exit doors in the Plant.
- Actively supports other crew members, when in need.
- Reports Maintenance requests to the Production Supervisor or Lead Hand when maintenance issues arise.
- 5S - sort, store, shine, standardize & sustain their department
- Communicate & work as a team with other operators.
- Reports Maintenance requests to the Production Supervisor or Lead Hand.
- Preventative maintenance of mobile equipment. (Clean and wash)
- Work in a safe and efficiently manner, according to company policies.
- Works towards achieving Zero Harm Today
- 5S - Safety, sort, store, shine, standardize & sustain.
- Assist with any other duties as required by Production Supervisor or Lead Hand., when the need arises.

**EDUCATION**:

- High school diploma

**WORK EXPERIENCE**:

- Brick manufacturing experience preferred

**SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- General understanding of control systems
- Mechanical aptitude
- Valid Lift Truck Certification
- Bobcat experience
- Sweeper experience
- Committed to working in a zero harm workplace
