Heritage Christian Online School has need for a self-employed Special Education Assistant in **Langley, BC** to work a student in the family home for **10 hours per week**.

Specific training in working with students with special needs, such as an Education Assistant certificate (or equivalent) is required.
- have a strong background in Special Education with knowledge of ASD (POPARD training an asset), ADHD, crisis behaviour intervention, executive functioning challenges and generalized learning difficulties.
- be able to provide broad academic support (grade 6-10).
- be creative in teaching approach.
- approach stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- understand the need to be flexible and adaptable.
- have a desire to learn and grow in their knowledge of Special Education.
- have strong written/verbal and technological skills.
- be able to work well independently within a scaffolded environment.
- have a team-focused approach.
- have a valid Class 5 driver's licence.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $26.00-$30.90 per hour
