**Purpose**
**of Position***:
Manages and supervises cage operations and ensures compliance with applicable regulations governing monetary transactions with accountability for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental data and paperwork.- Responsible for the completion and accuracy of daily paperwork and reconciliations. Trains, develops, mentors staff, evaluates their performance, and ensures a pleasant and efficient work atmosphere through fostering teamwork and open communication. Liaises with regulators, the Count Room Supervisor, and other departments regarding cage and cage activities.**Maj**
**or Responsibilities and Duties***:

- Responsible for managing and directing the operation of the Cage.
- Responsible for the management and custody of the Casino float to ensure monetary assets and transactions are accurate and secure.
- Supervises direct reports and team members, providing instruction and direction as needed, ensuring safe work practices are followed, and monitoring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Serves as a dynamic and energetic leader, fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication.
- Sets an example of excellent customer service standards for all staff.
- Interviews, trains, and develops Cashier Supervisors and Cashiers including conducting performance appraisals and employee meetings, providing ongoing feedback and support and administering discipline. Handles payroll, recruitment, and human resources issues for Cashier Supervisors and Cashiers, where applicable.
- Prepares Cage staff schedule and daily department line up and completes shift reports and other internal reports as necessary.
- Performs periodic audit and reconciliation of gaming software system accounts and forwards relevant information to the applicable internal departments and gaming regulators.
- Reconciles chip inventories and completes site chip transfers.
- Prepares and issues gaming and promotional cheques and reconciles the monthly cheque register.
- Calls in, accepts, verifies, records, and deposits cash and coin orders.
- Oversees ticket redemption machine loading and reconciliation, auditing, and tracking sheets; troubleshoots related customer problems.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures.
- Performs other duties as required
- Provides a backup in the absence of other supervisory staff.
- Printing and balancing batch IVS tickets.
- Maintaining adequate supply of scratch cards/Keno.

**Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required**:

- Proven leadership abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of Cashier Supervisor and Cashier duties is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Ability to field disputes and address in an appropriate and timely manner
- Reliable, punctual, efficient and diligent in duties and responsibilities
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in using a calculator
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot Cage equipment

**Experience, Training, Certification and Education (demonstrating requirements)**:

- Experience reconciling monetary transaction documentation
- 2 years supervisory work experience handling large amounts of cash with accuracy
- 1 year experience as a casino Cashier Supervisor preferred

**Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to pull, lift, and push objects up to 35 lbs
- Must have good manual dexterity and be able to kneel and crouch
- Capable of wearing of a radio head set while working in the facility (where applicable)
- Ability to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed
