**Responsibilities**
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe and report any changes or concerns promptly
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans developed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control protocols
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents or clients to promote mental well-being
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies
- Collaborate with healthcare teams including nurses, social workers, and therapists to deliver comprehensive support tailored to each individual’s needs
- Assist with mobility using specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistive devices
- Participate in training sessions on CPR, first aid, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, autism support, hospice care, and other relevant areas to enhance caregiving skills
- Support residents’ participation in social activities and community outings to foster engagement and independence
**Qualifications**
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or dementia/Alzheimer’s care are advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Demonstrated patience and empathy when working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments
- Experience working with people with autism or disabilities is a plus
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and medication schedules precisely
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
