**Introduction**

The **Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Thunder Bay** is currently recruiting for a Night Auditor. As a member of the Front Desk Department Night Auditors are focused on providing exceptional service and providing an end of day audit of daily transactions while maintaining a safe and secure presence overnight at the hotel. Night Auditors are often the first point of contact for our guests and will have a direct impact on the overall experience of our hotel guests. The Night Auditor will perform all Front Office duties, including the night audit process, during the overnight shift. Night Auditors take a proactive and responsive approach in determining and meeting guest needs to ensure a pleasurable and memorable experience for each guest that drives guest loyalty and return business.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**_Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the Night Auditor will: _**
- Manage and administer all phases of the night audit and income audit process;
- Ensure all revenues are balanced and accounts are settled;
- Ensure that all daily transactions are reconciled and accounted for in accordance with set policies and procedures;
- Ensure that guests have the best possible experience by ensuring a warm and welcoming demeanor at every interaction;
- Resolve any guest concerns during the overnight shift and communicate accordingly with the appropriate department to ensure proper follow-through;
- Provide a seamless and exceptional check-in and check-out experience for all guests, specifically late arrivals and early departures;
- Accurately manage all cash handling procedures;
- Ensure guest security by proper handling of guest room keys and personal information;
- Act as a key respondent to all emergency situations during the overnight shift;
- Liaise with all supporting departments to ensure a seamless experience for our guests, ensuring our vision of passionate people creating exceptional experiences is at the forefront of every interaction;
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the Director of Rooms and/or designate.
- Provide information on hotel facilities and services, general information about points of interest in the area and services available in the community
- Secure guests' valuables, process wake-up calls, store and retrieve luggage, investigate and resolve complaints and claims.
- Maintain a friendly, professional and productive working relationship with co-workers and management from all departments
- Assist all guests in a sincere courteous manner, whenever possible going the extra mile and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Understand and comply with all health and safety rules, regulations and laws. Report unsafe acts or hazardous conditions, report all workplace incidents/accidents or near misses, wearing all Personal Protective Equipment required, and participate in the fire safety plan;
- Attend and participate in all staff meetings
- Cooperate with all supporting departments to ensure a seamless experience for our guests, ensuring our vision of passionate people creating exceptional experiences is at the forefront of every interaction;
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager.

**Job Requirements**
- Completion of Post Secondary education in Hospitality, either a degree or Diploma in Hospitality or Business Management is an asset;
- Demonstrated exceptional guest/customer service skills with a passion for anticipating and exceeding guest expectations;
- Friendly and cooperative disposition and easily able to work cooperatively with team members;
- Strong administrative, organizational and time management skills;
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal;
- Exceptional analytical skills to prepare reports and to solve routine accounting problems;
- Strong knowledge of Property Management Systems is a definite asset;
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment-maintaining composure and objectivity with guests
- This is an overnight role, with regularly scheduled weekends and holidays;
- Computer use and cashiering skills required
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task
- Wears a uniform and able to represent a defined and high grooming standard.
- Proven time management skills and ability to work under pressure;
- **Available to work weekday nights and weekend nights**
- Moderate level of physical and mental effort. (can include activities such as periodic lifting up to 40 lbs.)
- High level of sensory attention: sight and hearing.
- Overtime as required.
- Standing and/or walking for prolonged periods
