**The opportunity**:
The University of Manitoba is looking for a Director, Career Development Centre & Co-op Programs. This position will be responsible for establishing the strategic vision, providing tactical direction, leadership, human resource and financial management of the unit, and developing partnerships at all levels within the faculty, with students and alumni, and with external stakeholders including University departments, government, industry and community partners.

The Director will oversee the management of career programming and services for business students and alumni, the development and implementation of Co-operative education programs across all degree disciplines, and the creation and implementation of experiential learning and mentorship initiatives. The Director will ensure the department’s programs and services are aligned with the faculty’s mission and strategic goals, promoting career readiness and employability among students and alumni.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Bachelor's degree required (Business Administration/Commerce, Human Resources, Marketing or a related field).
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Career/Adult Education or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in career services, co-operative education, experiential learning, student affairs, marketing/HR/recruitment/business development or related areas, preferably within a post-secondary institution required.
- Must possess deep knowledge of Manitoba Industry related to Co-Op placements opportunities.
- Experience in working with Industry CEO's and Industry leadership teams (e.g., Associates & Young Associates) in terms of Co-Op placements required.
- Sound knowledge of organizational management and program development within post-secondary institutions required.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in career services, co-operative education, and experiential learning required.
- Experience with developing curriculum and facilitating seminars and workshops is required.
- Demonstrated experience and accountability in the planning, administration, and monitoring of budgets required.
- Experience developing and managing experiential learning programs for an undergraduate and graduate student audience is an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Must have exceptional interpersonal skills including diplomacy and tact.
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills required.
- Strong leadership and team management skills required, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Ability to supervise and build a high-functioning team required.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives required.
- Ability to work with diverse student populations and students facing barriers to success required.
- Sound judgment with the ability to assess situations and determine appropriate action required.
- Ability to undertake collaborative initiatives in challenging environments with diverse stakeholders required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities required.
- Ability to work independently required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
