The Microbiology Analyst is responsible for coordinating and performing laboratory activities/projects including analysis of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples using microbial methods. The Microbiology Analyst is part of a scientific team that assists in the advancement, research and development of pharmaceutical products produced by the organization.

Current work hours are Monday-Friday from 8AM to 4:30PM with the potential to change to a 12-hour shift schedule in the future. This position is 100% on-site at the Adair facility in Strathroy, Ontario.

**The Role**
- Sample and test raw materials, finished products and stability samples using microbial methods described in compendia references or in-house methods, as required. Responsible for Environmental Monitoring (EM) sampling and testing.
- Responsible for speciation, growth promotion, and stock culture maintenance.
- Perform routine monitoring/calibration of designated lab equipment, as required.
- Prepare media and reagents, as required.
- Maintain adequate levels of laboratory supplies. Maintain laboratory environment in a safe and clean manner such as laboratory/equipment cleaning, glassware washing, storing of supplies, etc.
- Train, advise, and assist laboratory personnel as required (e.g. methods, procedures, tests, etc.).
- Always comply with SOPs and GMPs. Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) regulations, demonstrating leadership in safety practices and resolving safety-related issues.
- Must be able to work extended hours, weekends as needed, especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met.
- Other duties as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Microbiology or related field Required.
- 2+ years of experience as a lab analyst concentrating in microbiology preferred. Experience working in a pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility.
- Knowledge of laboratory/aseptic techniques, terminology, equipment, and materials required.
- Currently Catalent does not participate in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
- While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. Use of manual dexterity is required. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
