**Position Summary**:
The Director, Airline Relations and Development is responsible for growing and strengthening air services, managing airline relations at a strategic and executive level, and the development of programs that allow airlines to grow their business at Pearson while improving passenger experience. The Director will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our airport by leading air service development activities that protect and enhance our connectivity, expanding cargo business development opportunities, nurturing relationships with airlines, and developing new strategies to achieve our vision and ambition for Pearson.

**As Director, Airline Relations and Development, you will**:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing airlines, negotiating agreements, incentives, and opportunities for collaboration that enhance connectivity
- Lead the airport’s relationship with our airline partners, advocating for commercial, operational and infrastructure development interests and act as the voice of airlines within the airport
- Establish and manage a single view of all airline related matters within the airport.
- Lead airline engagement committees from a commercial and business development perspective, while outlining the framework for operational engagement
- In collaboration with Operations and other relevant departments ensure Airlines issues are treated and addressed.
- Regularly measure and development programs to improve airline engagement and satisfaction levels
- Lead the development of air carrier programs that help airlines prosper and grow their business at Toronto Pearson while improving the passenger experience
- Develop and execute a comprehensive air service development strategy to attract new airlines, routes, and destinations that align with the airport's growth objectives
- Lead cross-functional teams in preparing and presenting business cases, financial models, and route development proposals to senior airlines’ executives at Head Quarters level
- Oversee industry development opportunities, regulatory changes, and emerging markets to proactively identify openings for expansion and growth
- Develop and implement comprehensive cargo business development strategies to attract new cargo carriers and increase cargo traffic
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with cargo carriers, freight forwarders, and other industry stakeholders, negotiating agreements and partnerships to drive cargo business growth
- Work closely with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to advocate for policies and initiatives that support air service development objectives
- Represent the airport at industry events, conferences, and meetings, fostering industry relationships and promoting the airport's capabilities
- Model the GTAA leadership behaviours to support and further the business’ vision through building and development of diverse, multi-skilled team
- Coach, mentor and develop individuals and teams to rise to their full potential while providing timely, constructive and consistent feedback and personal development opportunities

- Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
- 10+ years of demonstrated work experience in air service development, route planning, or airline network planning within the aviation industry
- Strong knowledge of airline industry dynamics, route development processes, and market trends
- Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance to the Secret Level
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
