**Merrifield Trucking Ltd is currently seeking a Class 1 Lowbed Heavy Haul Driver.**

Vancouver Island based, Family owned & operated trucking & heavy haul business. Committed to providing superb customer service to our clientele. Servicing Vancouver Island & beyond. Team environment. Providing 5 to 9 axle lowbed transport, Tractor Service, & Tandem Rollback service.

**Salary**: Based on Experience.

**Duties Include**:

- Knowledge in regards to jeeps & boosters an asset, multi-axle configurations.
- Oversee the condition of the truck & trailers tires, lights, brakes, etc.
- Keeps truck & trailers clean & completes routine maintenance.
- Performs pre-trip/post-trip inspections & oversees all areas of vehicle.
- Must have knowledge, experience in loading/unloading excavators, wheel loaders, rocktrucks, dozers, processors, log loaders, etc. in a safe & professional manner.
- Maintain an accurate & detailed logbook in accordance to federal driving requirements.
- Secures & inspects equipment & truck to ensure safe travel.
- Operates equipment in safe & efficient manner to prevent the risk of injury and/or property damage.

**Requirements**:

- Valid Class 1 License with a clean drivers abstract
- 3-5 Years of referenced lowbed heavy haul experience.
- Ability to lift & carry 50lbs.
- Work in face paced environment that can be ever changing.
- Work in adherence to safe work practices, job specific procedures, & jobsite and traffic laws.
- Ability to work 5-6 days a week, approx. 10hrs a day plus overtime.
- Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
