Across from the Alberta Children's Hospital, the Child Development Centre is a warm and vibrant workplace with team members providing service to children & their families in a tertiary level outpatient setting. Reporting to the Unit Manager for Child Development Services, the Social Work III position works collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in the Cumulative Risk Diagnostic Clinic to deliver family centered care to families, children, and youth. This advanced clinical practice role includes working with patients and families presenting with a variety of complex developmental, behavioural, and academic difficulties that may be a result of exposure to multiple adverse events in the child’s lifespan. The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing, screening, and conceptualizing the impact of prenatal and postnatal adverse exposures. These prenatal and postnatal exposures are reviewed in terms of timing, duration, frequency, and severity and are shared with the diagnostic team to inform assessment and intervention approaches. The incumbent is also responsible for assisting the families with adjusting to the diagnostic findings and connecting them to appropriate community supports. They will help navigate the family through the clinic process from intake through to discharge from the clinic. This is an onsite position.

You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

**Required Qualifications**:
Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
One to three years of experience required working with families and children with a variety of developmental disorders including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, mental health concerns, and behavioural challenges. One to three years clinical experience supporting children and families. Demonstrated assessment and conceptualization skills of children and families presenting with social and developmental complexities. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary setting. Experience working in a pediatric setting. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of professionals. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Experience and knowledge of community resources.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Completion of Connect Care training and working knowledge of allied health documentation in EPIC.
