English Conversation Class Instructor

The Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL) is an innovative multi-service non-profit organization providing a broad range of child, youth, family, seniors, and immigrant programs and services related to literacy. Position Summary

As a **casual instructor**, you will facilitate _one class per week on October 21, 28 & November 4_ in Fernie. After that, you will be on call as required.

**Qualifications and Attributes**
- Experience teaching English Language learners
- ESL Instructor certification or equivalent (TESOL) is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience teaching a multi-level class is beneficial
- Good communication and record-keeping skills
- Ability to nurture a safe learning environment
- Ability to adapt to new technology is an asset

**Responsibilities**
- Plan and teach a 2-hour multilevel conversation class per week
- Develop class activities to enhance participants’ conversation skills for home, community and work
- Keep track of attendance weekly and submit to the Settlement Worker

**Wages and Hours**

This position will be 4 hours per session which includes preparation and facilitation time. It may work into more hours depending on availability, interest, and skill set. The wage is $24.75 per hour.
