About the role:
The focus of this position is to facilitate, coordinate and evaluate access to medication assistance and other special access needs for oncology patients. This position collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, and with government, community-based and private agencies that provide financial assistance for medications. This specialist also serves as an advisor to patients, families and healthcare providers regarding medication access.

**What you bring**:

- Degree, diploma in health sciences or social sciences required.
- 2 years’ experience in a hospital or outpatient setting as a drug reimbursement specialist preferred
- General knowledge of health care system infrastructure, cancer care continuum, cancer treatments, special access programs, and funding structure of medication access in Ontario
- College Regulation or affiliation/certification
- Excellent inter-personal, and problem solving skills
- Sound knowledge of the Ontario Drug Benefit Formulary
- Sound knowledge of Excel, Word, and Access
- Demonstrated ability to function as an independent practitioner
- Demonstrated teaching, teamwork and evaluation skills
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning
- Regular attendance is a requirement of the position
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated problem assessment skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
- Demonstrated individual leadership skills
