**Key Responsibilities**
- Fruit and vegetable preparation (cleaning, trimming, packaging, pricing)
- Juicing machine operation
- Inventory replenishment and product merchandising
- Cleaning (sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning produce islands and grocery shelves, etc.)
- Customer service approach in a cordial and friendly fashion
- Enthusiastically answers product related questions and customer inquiries
- Adhering to and maintaining the Village Grocers high level of service excellence
- Adhere to all provincial health and civil code regulations
- Assist with delivery deliveries (loading & unloading truck, use of hand pallet-jack)
- Able to handle fragile/perishable items with care

**Working Conditions**
- Inside, fridge work on occasion

- Stamina: Produce & Grocery Clerks often bend, crouch and stand for long periods of time. May be required to lift medium to heavy objects
- Job Commitment: Punctual and able to work variable shifts as assigned by the department manager
- Role Engagement: Ability to work with a positive attitude and a high level of energy
- Responsibility Success: Effectively manage and complete all aspects of key responsibilities
- Collaborative Approach: Works well with others and enjoys being part of a team

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**

Minimum two years in produce and/or grocery position
- Available to work a varied schedule (early mornings, days, evenings on both week & weekend days. Extended hours during peak selling periods I.e. Christmas)
- Can commit to working approx. 35 to 40 hours a week
- Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene & appearance
- Adheres to company dress code (hat/hairnet)
- Maintaining a clean and safe workspace environment
- Endure medium/high levels of physical exertion (standing, climbing stairs, bending, lifting, etc.)
- Equipment operation (cutting knives, preparation, juicing machines, pallet jack)
- Successful communication with customers
- Observes company code of conduct, policies and store rules
- Preform other duties and assignments as directed
