POSITION: Laundry Attendant

DESCRIPTION: Laundry Attendants are responsible for the cleaning and treatment of the hotels laundry using commercial machinery and prescribed stain treatment techniques. Clean and dry linen is folded, sorted, and stored for use by housemen and housekeepers. Laundry Attendants must maintain a clean and orderly facility.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Maintains a clean laundry facility, including dusting, sweeping/vacuuming, and mopping.
- Eyewash station, first aid kit, and exits must be unblocked at all times.
- Tends laundering machines to clean articles such as rags, towels, sheets, blankets and special items required for the rooms.
- Sorts Laundry, stain treating articles as per Hotel procedure.
- Loads articles into washer and sets appropriate cleaning cycle and detergent setting.
- Lifts clean wet articles from washer and places them successively into dryers for measured time cycles.
- Folds and places items in appropriate shelf storage area a per Hotel procedure.
- May sort and count articles to verify quantities on invoices and inventories.
- Must work to maintain all machinery in good working order by keeping dryer traps clean, observing recommended load sizes, cycles, temperatures, etc.
- All employees are required to assist any customer or potential customer in a prompt, courteous, friendly, and helpful manner at all times.
- Must be able to display a positive and enthusiastic attitude in all daily tasks in an effort to encourage teamwork and accomplish goals.
- Must be honest, dependable, have desire to keep things clean, organized and willing to learn and follow directions.
- Must maintain neat and clean appearance at all times

WAGE RATE: According to collective agreement

Anticipated Hours: 4 to 8 hours a day, 2 to 3 days a week. Maybe higher as occupancy and staffing dictates.
