**Position: Fuel and Lube Service Technician**

**Location: Sites located in and around Edmonton, reporting into our Acheson office**

**Type: Hourly**

**About Us**:
Kichton Contracting is seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team. Kichton Contracting Ltd (KCL) has been in business since 1963 and is based out of Acheson, Alberta, Canada. KCL is classified as a medium-sized civil earthworks contractor. Our work ranges from residential earthworks, commercial site development, to industrial projects. Our services include grading design for all types of new commercial and industrial sites along with retrofitting existing sites to accommodate new site development.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Refuel and lubricate various types of heavy equipment (CAT, John Deere, Hitachi) in a safe and environmentally-friendly manner to maximize equipment availability and performance
- Perform preventative maintenance and servicing of fleet vehicles and heavy equipment
- Complete detailed reports on refueling and lubricating, at the end of each shift
- Monitor records and track hours of service for assigned company vehicles
- Maintain fuel and lube truck and equipment on a continuous basis including keeping it clean and free of safety hazards
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
- Communicate updates pertaining to maintenance, safety and/or environmental issues to supervisor on a daily basis
- Take oil samples and complete necessary paperwork required to process
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and regular safety meetings
- Promote safety awareness by ensuring compliance of corporate heath and safety policies and procedures
- Report all incidents, damage and near misses immediately
- Perform additional duties as required

**Qualifications and Competencies**:

- Must be 18 years of age
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience working as a Service Technician in civil construction
- Valid class 5 with air brakes driver’s license (clean abstract) with access to personal vehicle to get to and from office in Acheson
- Valid CSTS-2020
- Valid WHMIS 2015 certification
- Valid TDG certification is an asset
- Valid Ground Disturbance certification is an asset

**Work Schedule**:

- Monday to Saturday
- 8-12 hour shifts per day
- Overtime if required
