**Job Title**:Part Time Banquet Captain

**Location**: 75 White Point #2 Road, Hunts Point, Nova Scotia

**Role Summary**

The Banquet Captain will work under the direction of the Food & Beverage Service Manager and works closely with the culinary team, as well as the event servers ensuring the service and quality standards of the event suites are met and continually developed within established business and strategic plans. This role is a key part of F&B events team and acts as a host to the onsite contact or event coordinator. The banquet captain is responsible for the setup, execution, and tear down of an event in accordance with the WPBR standards, regulations practices, policies, and procedures.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**
- Thorough understanding of the BEO's, and special request and billing specifications.
- Provide supervision to the event servers ensuring cleanliness of the event suites, hallways, and storage areas.
- Maintain service standards and enhance quality of service, managing room setups and tear downs and opening and closing duties are completed.
- Monitor food quality and presentation and communicate any shortfalls to their appropriate supervisor.
- To assist in the training of event servers in accordance to the WPBR service stands.
- Manage relations with the service and culinary teams by building positive working relationships internally as well as with guests and club management.
- Ensure that all time management and payroll processes are followed.
- Ensure inventory controls are followed for bar and wine service.
- Acts as an Ambassador of the Resort wherever possible demonstrating a welcoming positive demeanor, with a high level of integrity.
- Conduct briefings with event service staff prior to each event working in conjunction with the culinary team discussing in details steps and flow of service
- Perform as a department role model by performing technical or functional job duties including serving tables, clearing tables, taking orders if necessary
- Work with leadership to ensure that event service associates clearly understand their job roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
- Address guest concerns, requests or issues and communicate to leadership
- Coordinate tasks and work with other departments to ensure that the department runs efficiently, AV set up and table plans are in accordance of the BEO
- Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
- Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in events
- A good knowledge of fine food, wine, and service
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be extremely responsible with integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion

**Working Conditions**
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling

Pay: $18.50-$20.50 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
