Manager, Music Education

**SUMMARY**:
This person will be required to travel to up 6 weeks per year across Canada and there is potential for travel to the US and Asia.

**What will the Manager, Music Education do?**
- Develop the annual budget for National Education and the Yamaha Corporate Music School.
- Create and execute monthly and quarterly reporting, manage forecasts, expenses and revenue for the fiscal year.
- Create strategy and promotional campaigns for sales, inventory and production of music books and learning materials.
- Create annual promotional plan in conjunction with the CX/DX Team to promote the Brand of Yamaha Music Education across Canada.
- Serve as a liaison with the independent and dealer owned licensed Yamaha Music Schools across Canada and become the main point of contact for them.
- Update annual school agreements and actively seek new opportunities to expand the independent school base.
- Work with the MI Sales and Marketing teams to promote the sales of Yamaha products for all students and families across Canada along with tie ups with dealers and direct sales.
- Lead the ongoing digital transformation initiatives to bring together the various business systems currently being used to streamline the acquisition and retention of students.
- Work with the team to steadily improve the customer experience by have in depth knowledge of the customer and their experiences to ensure all support functions are aligned to the vision.
- Mentor, coach and train the National Curriculum Supervisor and Manager, Music School Markham to drive customer excellence, business development and goals.

**To be successful in the role you will possess the following**:

- Bachelor of Music Education is required.
- 7+ years experience as a Yamaha Music School teacher or owner is preferred.
- 5+ years experience creating and managing budgets is required.
- Posses the ability to train, coach, and mentor team members. Boost employee engagement while creating a great work environment.
- Must be highly self-motivated and capable to work independently and in a team with a proven track record of being flexible, adaptable, and resourceful to positively impact both strategic and tactical initiatives.
- Prior experience managing a large Music School or other licensed education franchise is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact comfortably with a wide range of levels in organizations: from senior executives/owners, to support staff/parents.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English is required. French is nice to have.
- Versatile in multi-tasking to plan and organize critical tasks/projects to maximize time and resources.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
