Greeter Team Lead

Reporting to the Employment Coach, the Greeter Team Lead is responsible for providing leadership to the Greeters and liaising with the Royal Alberta Museum staff. The Team Lead will also provide a welcoming first impression to everyone entering the facility. They will address any visitor’s questions and direct them towards appropriate areas (e.g. admissions area, conference rooms, classrooms). This position is part of the Employment Program and will be part of a team that is committed to reintegration, developing hope and skills while providing a healthy and supportive workplace.

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Welcome visitors to the museum and provide directions (parking, LRT, admissions area, conference rooms, theatre, washrooms, classrooms, etc.)
- Answer guests’ questions about the museum and The Mustard Seed
- Manage line-ups at Admissions or at the Children & Bug Galleries
- Assist security in identifying and resolving suspicious behavior's
- Provide information about The Mustard Seed and other community resources to museum visitors and vulnerable community participants
- Act as a liaison between museum staff and the greeting team
- Provide general advice to greeters and answer their questions relating to job duties
- Assist in the training of new Greeters
- Report employment-related concerns (e.g. problematic behavior's, absences, late arrivals, improper attire, etc.) to the employment coach for resolution
- Create Greeter work schedules and assist with finding relief coverage in the staff pool
- Assist greeters with the entry of time sheets each pay period
- Participate in all staff training (e.g. First Aid, SafeTALK, Nonviolence Crisis Intervention, Naloxone Training)
- Other duties as may be assigned
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**
- Minimum 1 year experience in a customer service role
- Supervisory experience is an asset but is not required
- Able to communicate with a diverse range of people including children or other vulnerable persons
- Empathetic towards individuals facing mental health, addictions, chronic illness, homelessness, poverty and related challenges
- Skilled at conflict resolution
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Museum setting, extended standing and walking for long periods of time
- Mental effort: moderate, periods of high traffic and ability to assist guests
- Interacting with the general public
- Greeting staff will be provided with a uniform and are expected to maintain a clean and presentable appearance
