Seasonal Second Cook

**The Position**:
Our Club is in need of full-time and part-time Seasonal Second Cooks to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Chef, this important position is responsible for providing exceptional meals to the members and guests in the Club’s restaurants, as well as during special events; this role will require work on the service line, preparation work, and banquet preparation. Open positions are for full-time and part-time, with required availability in the evenings and on weekends and holidays.

**Responsibilities**:

- Consistently preparing culinary items according to recipes, and demonstrate thorough knowledge of food preparation, presentation and service techniques
- Reviewing daily production sheets with the Sous Chef and prepare the food items in accordance with Shaughnessy standards in an efficient manner
- Providing exceptional, personalized table service to our members and their guests
- Keeping overproduction and food waste to a minimum, while ensuring proper rotation, labeling, and food storage
- Operating kitchen equipment while adhering to safety procedures, and reporting any deficiencies
- Ensuring all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely and in accordance with hotel food safety guidelines
- Accountability for the operations of your food station
- Learning, knowing and staying up-to-date on our health and safety, COVID-19 protocols, and Club protocols and rules
- Various side duties as assigned

- Minimum 3-4 years cooking experience in a luxury food program or fast-paced restaurant
- Red Seal Certificate (Journeyman’s papers) or recognized international equivalent is considered an asset
- Certified in FoodSafe Level 1
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

**Compensation and Benefits**:

- $23-26 per hour, commensurate with kitchen experience (includes guaranteed monthly gratuities)

Founded in 1911 when Vancouver was just 25 years old, Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club traces its history back to the earliest days of golf on the West Coast. First located on Canadian Pacific Railway lands, the Club moved in 1960 to the ancestral site of the Musqueam Nation’s winter village. Shaughnessy has served as the proud host of many prestigious events and notable figures in golf and tennis over these 100+ years. Today’s Club features an award-winning clubhouse, highly-ranked and competitive golf course, indoor and outdoor tennis, fitness and a golf performance centre.
