Job Overview

**Full and Part time staff - Port Perry + North Durham**

Are you interested in guiding adults in a supported semi - independent residential setting?
- **Duties**_
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as attending school/work, problem solving, living skills and preparation for independence.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Implement care plans (ISP's) tailored to individual needs, including behavioral support strategies when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of client care activities and report any changes in health status to supervisors or family members.
- Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing housekeeping tasks, food prep and maintenance as needed, supporting clients to engage in these activities as well.
- **Requirements**_
- Previous experience in residential care and SIL, or caregiving is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus.
- Crisis intervention and First Aid/CPR certification is an asset
- Valid Drivers License with a clear abstract is an asset
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, special needs and behavioral challenges

and Crisis Intervention in care is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Physical ability to perform housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation of clients.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Certification as a DSW, SSW or relevant healthcare qualification is an advantage but not mandatory.
