**ROLE DESCRIPTION
**As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for all functions associated with material warehousing, including shipping/receiving.

**Essential Functions of the Job**:

- Assign trucks to appropriate receiving doors to load and unload goods.
- Checks goods against purchase orders or invoices and takes note of any deficiencies/discrepancies documenting with pictures when required.
- Plan, oversee and participate in the daily warehouse operations and activities, including the receipt, documentation, and storage of inventory as well as the preparation and packing of orders for shipment to external suppliers and clients.
- Enters shipping and receiving data into the AIS warehouse management system.
- Maintains storage areas by organizing floor space, adhering to warehouse design principles and maintains accurate records of received goods.
- Prepares waybills and BOL’s and determines the most cost-effective courier according to procedures, location, and rates for all shipments to external suppliers and clients.
- Retrieve data from computer as requested and perform other duties as assigned.
- Delivers items to appropriate departments in the office.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

**Education and/or Experience**:

- Good written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Minimum High School Diploma required.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems quickly and effectively.
- Experience and knowledge in shipping/receiving preferred.
- Forklift certification would be beneficial.
- First Aid Training, WHMIS & TDG Certification is a definite asset.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus due to computer work.
- Light to moderate lifting is required.
- Ability to uphold the stress of traveling.
