Through the support of the Global Skills Opportunity Program, the International Programs and Collaborations Office (ICPO) is establishing networking groups/communities of practice for our community to connect with international counterparts at our partner institutions. Supporting the Manager, International Programs & Collaboration, the International Networking Assistant will assist launching a series of participatory groups (6-8 groups) aimed at kickstarting individual participation in international dialogues as well as allowing participants to build an understanding of how they can build collaborative initiatives with participants from abroad. Through monthly or bi-monthly meetings, the groups will revolve around knowledge sharing, mentorship and discussion of contemporary issues in a series of focus themes (sustainability, industry collaboration, decolonization) or disciplines (digital media, art, design).

Reporting to the Manager, International Programs & Collaboration, and working in conjunction with the IPCO team, the International Networking Assistant will provide support on the building, organizing, and measuring the quality of multiple networking groups and help oversee their scheduling and governance. The incumbent will also be responsible to help promote the program and use their own observation and analytical skills to identify trends and bring forward areas that need attention as the programming advances.

**Summary of Responsibilities**:

- Work with the Program Assistant, International Programs & Collaboration Office on promotion and registration for internal community as well as coordination and outreach with international stakeholders and participants to advance the awareness and value of this programming
- Organize and facilitate monthly or bi-monthly meetings for the community of practice groups made up of internal and external participants around the world; this may include helping to schedule follow up sub-group meetings
- Assist participating faculty members and students in identifying and formalizing potential projects for collaboration that may arise from group dialogues; this may include helping them ideate opportunities for special projects, research, curriculum development, and other forms of exchange and/or resource sharing
- Connect participants with appropriate support needed for any project development that may arise from the network
- Work with the ICPO team to establish appropriate strategies to enhance the experience for all participants and the broader OCAD U community through sustained international communities of practice
- Where needed, liaise with all appropriate staff at both OCAD U and our international partners, including international office counterparts, Campus Life, IT, etc. to support program delivery
- Contribute to the development of diversity, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility (DEIA) strategies throughout all work and outreach activities

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Understanding of art and design-based practices, curriculum and/or research knowledge is considered an asset
- Familiarity with international collaboration/relation would be considered an asset
- Proven skills in relationship building and ability to collaborate with different stakeholders locally and internationally
- Experience in meeting facilitation and student mentorship
- Ability to develop and promote effective internal and external organizational partnerships
- Excellent research and analytical skills and demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills required that includes public speaking, presentations, and promotion of new concepts and ideas
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity and diversity and experience promoting a respectful work and learning environment for students, staff and faculty
- Ability to work evenings to accommodate various time zones is required
- Flexibility for both in person and remote work required

**Compensation**:$22.12 to $26.14 per hour commensurate with experience, plus 4% vacation pay and 7% in lieu of benefits.

**Hours of Work**: 21 hours per week. This is a **temporary one-year contract**.
