Draftsperson/misc Metals

Job description

We are looking for an experienced AutoCAD Draftsperson to produce shop and fabrication drawings for the miscellaneous metals sector.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop architectural shop drawings and fabrication drawings with the coordination and management of technical project requirements.
- Review architectural and shop drawings, specifications and samples for design inconsistencies and conflicts (Architectural, Structural, Shop & Fabrication Drawings, etc..).
- Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Collaborate professionally with project team regarding design revisions and finalization.
- Identify missing or unclear architectural drawing items and generate concise RFI's to resolve each.
- Perform quantity take-offs of materials whenever needed.
- Identify materials to be utilized based on customer specifications.
- Modify and revise drawings in terms of all SI/revisions to correct deficiencies or incorporate instructions and comments onto drawings.
- Visit sites when required to obtain measurements.
- Any additional tasks or duties assigned by Supervisor or Management team.

**Skills**
- Must be proficient in drafting tools like AutoCAD, Autodesk(Advance Steel an asset), etc.
- Excellent PC skills in MS Office, MS Windows, Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills, decision making and critical thinking.
- Strong time management skills to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Must be organized and self-motivated.
- Strong mathematical skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of steel terminology, weld procedures and symbols an asset.
- Previous experience in welding, miscellaneous metals, stairs and railings are a definite asset.

- AutoCAD: minimum 2 years (Autodesk Advance Steel an asset)
- MS Office, MS Windows, Excel

**Salary**: $23.00-$28.00 per hour
