Carp, Canada Artium Design Build Inc. Full time

Reporting to the President the Design Manager will lead the design team as well as be an active member of the team. You will assign design projects, each designer will attend design meetings, develop project designs and drawings and guide customers through all phases of the design process.

The Design Manager will also be accountable for the advancement and development of the 3-person design department through strategic initiatives, process and policy development, research, and designer mentoring. The Design Manager will work with all Artium departments and employees as necessary to develop a creative and effective design department.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Work collaboratively with the team to develop innovative and sustainable design solutions
- Lead day-to-day activities requiring direct client contact
- Resolve project challenges as needed to ensure deadlines are met at all phases
- Coordinate activities with customers, vendors, and suppliers
- Build strong design solutions leveraging your Chief Architect or similar software skills
- Provide design direction to the team, manage resources, oversee the quality of deliverables
- Create schematic floor plans and develop design concepts with three dimensional renderings using Chief Architect
- Oversee the development of drawing packages outlining all details for the build
- Improve internal processes to build the overall strength of the team
- Provide coaching, recognition and guidance to all team members

**Professional Education and Experience**:

- University or College level degree in Interior Design or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years related residential construction-based design experience in Canada.
- Minimum of 2 years experience managing a design team.
- Successfully led design projects as a trusted advisor to clients.
- BCIN or BCIN certification or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to operate general business software programs.
- A demonstrated ability to operate, and learn, design drawing software programs.
- Must be process driven with the ability to develop systems and processes within the Design department.

One year full-time contract: Hybrid role (3 days in the office)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
